Where gold meets silver. This is Uganda's smallest park. This park has one gorilla group but with the most silverbacks in Uganda. The Batwa trail in Mgahinga offers an interesting cultural encounter known for exciting entertainment menu. A rich biodiversity of its pristine forests is unmatched and its breath-taking mountain hiking adventures makes it a unique destination. This is a destination for nature lovers.
The main attractions in the park are the mountain gorillas but Mgahinga National Park is also home to the endangered golden monkeys, Vervet monkeys, Spotted hyenas, Serval cats, Red tailed monkeys, Patas monkeys, Mangabeys, Leopards, Golden cats, Forest hogs, Elephants, Bushbucks, Bushbabies, Buffaloes, Blue monkeys.
Activities in this park include; The famous Batwa cultural trail, Gorilla habituation experience, Hiking Mt. Sabinyo (3669) ranges to the point where the East African countries (Uganda, Rwanda and DRC), Hiking Mt. Gahinga (3474m), Mt. Muhavura (4127).
This Park is located in the south western part of Uganda and shares border with Rwanda and Congo a distance of 450Km about 5 to 6 hour drive from the city center.
